Welcome to a Bright New Career in Reflexology

The International Institute of Reflexology Diploma Course Exciting Fun and Rewarding

Testimonial from a student:
I am currently studying the IIR Diploma in Reflexology which is based in West Malling in Kent, I spent some time researching different courses available and I am pleased to say I have found a course that is recognised as both credible and professional,  the course is extremely comprehensive, thorough and well planned.  The method of combining theory , with practical and casework,  Janice's vast experience in both Reflexology and Anatomy and Physiology together with the structured classes has provided me with all the tools required to train to become a successful reflexologist.   The course does require dedication and determination, however, with the fantastic support from Janice and the team I am training with I am enjoying every minute.

Highly recommended.

Why choose a course run by the International Institute of Reflexology?

There are many course providers that offer reflexology and these courses are excellent in their own right. However the course that is offered by the International Institute of Reflexology (IIR) has the benefit of being the Original Eunice Ingham Method of Reflexology. Eunice Ingham was the founder of modern reflexology and it was she that mapped out the feet and developed reflexology to become the powerful and effective treatment that it is today.

Tutors teaching this method have to be licensed by the IIR to ensure authenticity is maintained. Tutors must have worked extensively in the field and hold a recognised teaching qualification such as the Award in Education and Training.

This combination ensures that students are taught by professionals who have the experience and practical knowledge to deliver interesting and informative classes and whom know what it takes to get students through their exams. The tutors are available between modules and on hand to give advice on any aspect of the course.

With the addition of the City & Guilds Level 3 award we are ensuring that our graduates have international and European recognition for their training. This dual qualification will allow you to work in your chosen capacity as a confident, competent professional Reflexologist.

We have added in the C&G Level 3 award to ensure acceptance of our graduates to any organisation, membership, NHS, etc and have European acceptance as well as the International recognition awarded by the IIR Diploma.

Any units from the City & Guilds course can be used to transfer to other courses, should you decide to continue in other areas such as massage or aromatherapy. This saves time and money in repeating work already completed.

Take a look at the information below to find out more about reflexology and the qualification that you will be studying for.

About Reflexology

LogoThe Background to Reflexology:

Reflexology is certainly not new. The art of Reflexology can be traced back to 2330 B.C. in ancient Egypt and also in India and China. Reflexology as we know it today is attributed to the work of Eunice Ingham, an American Therapist.

Eunice mapped out reflex points on the feet and hands that correspond to all of the organs, glands and parts of the body. Her original work is taught exclusively by the school that she founded, The International Institute of Reflexology.

Reflexology Today:

A typical foot reflexology treatment lasts 45-50 minutes and it is generally recommended that a course of 4-6 weekly treatments is considered, however the frequency of treatments is up to you, and may vary depending on your state of health and long term objectives.

Reflexology is a complementary therapy widely accepted in the UK and recognised by the NHS, many GP’s and hospices. It is totally safe for people of all ages, from babies to the elderly, for pregnant women and those undergoing chemotherapy. Whilst reflexology works very well alongside conventional medicine, it should never be used in place of seeking professional medical advice.

The International Institute of Reflexology® does not purport to teach medical practice in any form. Reflexology is a unique modality in the health field. Its purpose is not to treat or diagnose for any specific medical disorder, but to promote better health and well being in the same way as an exercise or diet programme.
